Department of Information
Processing Engineering
| Overview |
| |
Information underlies the human thought,
judgments and activities.
Information Processing is the technology to construct a
system to process rapidly by computer volumes of data of
letters, graphics, images, voices etc. The department is
equipped with the latest computer platforms,
UNIX and Windows bases, and a computer network connected
to the world through intra and internet.
It provides for a comprehensive course for information
technology, which covers fundamental theories through
specialized knowledge and techniques.
Students are educated to be engineers with both creativity
and solution ability of problems.
Graduates get jobs at locals and nationwide in IT industry
as well as in wide areas of other industry,
trade, service, etc. |

Information Processing (4 Years)
- Graduate program:
Master of Engineering in
Information Processing (2
years) Doctor of Engineering in Electronics and Information (3 years) |
| Discipline Groups |
|
The course is categorized in five fields:
- Fundamentals of Information Science
- Information Systems & Computer Networks
- Fundamentals of Electric Engineering & Hardware
- Software Technology
- Image Processing Technology.
|
| Undergraduate
Program |
|
Students take subjects in the above fields selectively,
some of which accompany relevant experiments and/or
practices.
They have to be credited with prescript hours of the
department curriculum for graduation.
Students are also encouraged to acquire certified qualifications,
especially to pass the Japan Information Technology Engineers
Examination (JITEE).
In the forth year, students have to select a research theme
through the instruction of a professor.
They are asked to offer a final report and a presentation
on their achievements, which are subject to professors' judge
for a bachelor degree.
Further the department offers two years' master
and three years' doctoral programs.

- Master Program
The master's program intends to build up
engineers of information technology with creativity
and solving ability of problems.
The curriculum is composed of major four courses.
Students have to belong to one of the courses
and take subjects for subscribed credit hours.
They are asked to make research under the instruction
of a professor of the course and to present achievements
at relevant conferences.
Candidates are eligible for a degree of "Master of Engineering"
on passing required examinations
and completing a master's thesis.
